« The Domaine des Belles Âmes respects the souls of the past, those of today and tomorrow.»
It is with these few words that Karine LE MARCHAND revealed to us her project for the Domaine des Belles Âmes. Much more than a simple house renovation, the estate appeared to me as an architectural manifesto with an eco-responsible and aesthetic emphasis.
Old wood has this essential quality to bring that extra soul to any interior decoration project. The burnt wood of the kitchen of the main building, and the cheese boards of the facades of the kitchen of the annex, are both the key materials of this incomparable rendering.
A fair balance of shape and material
I had the chance to collaborate with Véronique DE SOULTRAIT. Using 4 hands, we created this superb fireplace combining rope braiding and burned recycled wood. If you would like to learn more about this fantastic rope wall decor designer, check out her workshop website. Or go to Lyon to discover this artisanal work applied to design and decoration.
An “art to live” project where the soul of ancient woods and the love of beauty are revealed.
In conclusion, all you have to do is discover the Domaine des Belles Âmes site without delay. You will discover the philosophy of the project and all the solutions implemented inside and outside the estate.
On the other hand… the bonus on this project is to appear in front of the camera alongside one of the French’s favorite tv presenters… Thank you Karine for trusting me and highlighting the beauty of recycling, the love of a job well done, and the happiness that it brings.
