The “Otium”
It designates this free time that we devote to personal enrichment, far from the tumult of everyday life. The otium is an invitation to slow down and rediscover the pleasure of learning to better recharge your batteries.
Rather than filling vacation time with too many activities and distractions, why not invest it in activities that nourish the mind and soul?
It is precisely a question of soul in this July letter, and especially of “Beautiful Souls”…
May these moments of otium bring you serenity and inspiration. Happy reading and excellent holidays to all.
Laurent,
“Belles Âmes” domain
“Belles Âmes domain respects the souls of the past, those of today and tomorrow.”
It is with these few words that Karine LE MARCHARND revealed her Belles Âmes Domain project to us. Much more than a simple house renovation, the estate appeared to me as an architectural manifesto with an eco-responsible and aesthetic emphasis.
I thank her greatly for having detected in my work of old woods, the precious and essential qualities for the domain. I am very proud to have been able to make my contribution to this beautiful building which is intended to shine among the public www.domainedesbellesames.fr
I often summarize my work with the mantra: “art to live”. Now, it’s up to you to play Karine, to promote this area and share with as many people as possible the beauty of recycling, the love of a job well done, and the happiness that it brings.
Each Project is unique,
because each Wood is unique
Few creators reveal their workshops.
At LPasse Design it is through visiting the workshops that our clients discover the authenticity and essence of our approach. Old woods are unique in their textures and souls. Understanding this means embracing a lifestyle where beauty, goodness and goodness are essential.
Our workshops are open on request, come through the door and come meet us.
Summer news
We will be present from November 7 to 9 in Paris, at the first Artisans d’Excellence show, the trade fair for decorative arts.
The exercise promises to be interesting because we have to present our subjects. Not furniture, but only the material! Old wood and more broadly upcycling are increasingly recognized for the excellence of architecture and interior decoration and we are very proud of it.
Meet at the beginning of November at the Hôtel des Italians to discover our material scripting !

Summer reading
For this summer Otium, what could be better than tasting a work that takes you back to the beginning of the 15th century. A young humanist finds an ancient manuscript that will define the beginnings of the Age of Enlightenment!!!
A treat, especially for those who have a penchant for our Avignon-based Petrarch.
